Virgin River Gorge Arches
We have been through the Gorge many times and have
enjoyed the drive along I 15. Once when traveling through the Gorge, we
noticed an arch high up on the North side of the highway, so we started
watching for others as we drove through. We noticed another arch high
up on the South side of the highway. When we headed to Vegas this past
week we had planned on stopping along the highway and getting some
pictures and parking coordinates for these arches. Turns out the
highway department had other plans for us. There was road work most of
the way through the gorge. We improvised by stopping on the way back
home. We were able to pull off the freeway and get some good pictures.
The coordinates are for places to pull off on the south side of the
highway. The coordinates where we stopped for the arch on the North
side of I 15 are N 36° 56.408' and W 113° 49.306'. If you are careful
there are several places where you can safely pull off and see the
arches. The cordinates for the arch on the South side are N 36° 58.21'
& W 113° 43.259'.
Please use caution when stopping along
the Interstate and pulling back
Onto the pictures.
