Lookout Trees

 

 

    Lookout trees are another enjoyable thing to search for while being in the forest. These trees were used as lookout post for the rangers who were charged with  protecting the forest. They would climb these trees and scan the horizons looking for smoke and other indications of forest fires.

    The trees listed below are ones we have found and gotten handheld GPSr coordinates for their positions. Click on the picture to see full size pictures of the tree and get the coordinates.
